Detailed Duties
APC:
Operate paper rewinder, slitting jumbo rolls into retail size rolls. Various types of paper.
Cut products to various specified dimensions, using slitters. Cut cores and spacers to fit shafts, using bandsaw.
Examine completed work to detect defects and verify conformance to work orders, and adjust machinery (tensions, brakes, kilter bar) as necessary to correct production problems.
Set specs and parameters on machine's computer.
Measure, space, and set jumbo rolls and slitters according to product specifications.
BCF:
Operated plastic extrusion compounder. Manufactured various types of plastics from plastics, powders, oils, waxes, etc. Mixed the components together, melted them with high heat (400-600 degrees), mixed them together. 10 years experience.
Prior to that, operated plastic extrusion reprocessor. Took used materials, chopped them up, melted them down and mixed 10 percent with new material for reuse. 10 years experience.
Operated a metallizer rewinder. Used fire under a vacuum to melt metal to spray coat plastic (like coating in potato chip bags). 2-3 years experience.
Also worked as roll wrapper (packaging) and material handling (distributing material and loading trucks).
Availability:
I have worked every shift conceivable, days, afternoons, nights, and spent 23 years on 12 hour rotating swing shift. Will work 8, 10, 12 hour shifts. Prefer day shift but will work night shift.
Will NOT flip-flop between day and night shift.
